Pythoge is a woman-owned business founded in 2014 by Meri Thompson Pylant and Ken Pylant. What began as a shared passion soon became a mission: to preserve the charm and integrity of the community they love by restoring classic homes across Auburn, Opelika, and the surrounding areas.
Over the years, that vision has grown beyond restorations and renovations to include custom home builds — each crafted to blend timeless character with modern living. Pythoge specializes in transforming residential properties by revitalizing existing structures or designing new homes that feel like they’ve always belonged.
Driven by a commitment to craftsmanship and quality, Pythoge creates spaces that seamlessly complement their neighborhoods while reflecting each homeowner’s unique personality.
Meri and Ken's journey began with renovating their own first home — a project that sparked a lifelong passion and evolved into a family business known for integrity, creativity, and care.
Today, Pythoge continues to honor its roots: building, restoring, and reimagining homes that keep the spirit of the community alive for generations to come.

One of our favorite projects is our fully-renovated office that was once an abandoned downtown historic home. This project fully embodies everything we wish to achieve in all our custom homes- giving homes a fresh new look while keeping the same charm from the original home.
